IRENE PFLANZ (nee NAGY) Passed away suddenly at Seven Oaks Hospital on Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at the age of 89. She is survived by her sons, Charles Frederick Lauterer, Phillip Walter Lauterer, Wilfred Pflanz; daughters, Vivian Blask and Sandra Mable Harapiak; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sisters, Helen, Elisabeth, Theresa and Louise; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Theresa (nee Simon) and father Benedict Nagy; her first husband Philip Lauterer; and her brothers, Stephen, Benjamin, Joseph and Arthur. Irene was born on a farm in the Middle Lake region of Saskatchewan and grew up knowing a small log cabin as home. When she met Philip they built a house in Middle Lake and lived there for several years. Shortly after moving to Flin Flon, her husband was killed in a mining accident and her life fell apart. She spent most of her life in Flin Flon and then The Pas. Moving to Winnipeg she resided at the Maples Personal Care Home. A special thank you to the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for their care and compassion over the last 10 years. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy No. 1 East at Navin Road. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
