Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALISON HELENA LOUISE CHANENKO (MUNRO) January 11, 1932 - July 16, 2002 It is with great sadness we announce the death of Alison after a brief illness with cancer. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years, Mike and their children and grandchildren: Anne (Steven-Amanda, Michelle), John (Glenda-Jaymi, Tami), Maria (Brian), Sarah (Steven-Richard) daughter-in-law Cheryl (Aaron, Alex), Jennifer and David; two brothers and their families, Tom (Joesphine) of Australia, Iain (Rose) of England and family in Ukraine. Alison was predeceased by her parents in the 1950s; sons, Michael (1977) and David (1999) and daughter-in-law Debbie (1994). Mom was strong and courageous having lived through tragedies in life such as war and the death of her sons. Mom was a Christian and had a strong belief in God. Mom built many lasting and cherished friendships; those including Jackie, Lorraine and Susan, among others. Who could forget moms sense of humour. Mom could remember things from her childhood years and through her reading was quite intelligent. She loved the crossword, Scrabble and Jeopardy. Being British, Mom had 1001 sayings and metaphors that kept us in stitches and we find ourselves using. Mom was special, kind, generous, beautiful, a great wife and mom. We will miss her. Our family would like to thank all the staff of the Grace Hospital Emergency, 4 South, and the ICU for their kindness and compassion in our time of sorrow. Alison, Mom, Gramma, friend - nothing can be as precious as our heartful memories of you. Rest peacefully until we see you again. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Temple, Buntain Chapel on Friday, July 19, at 1:00 p.m. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
