CHIP MARANTZ Died peacefully in Palm Desert on Sunday, July 14, 2002 at the age of 78. His parents, Joe and Razel, and younger brother Base predeceased him. He will be greatly missed by his wife Shirley (Ratson) sons, Bernie (Terry) and Gerald; granddaughters, Caitlin and Laura; and sister and brother-in-law Cal and Ben Shell. Chip grew up in Winnipeg and will be remembered as "The Man with the Axe" before he left with his young family for Los Angeles where he was in the garment business. The last five years were spent happily living in Sun City where he made many new friends and excelled at all games, especially bridge. He loved music, spicy food, a good argument, and above all his family.
