MAGNY OTTER (nee SIGURDSON) After a rich and fulfilling life, Magny (known to relatives and friends as "Mac"), passed away at the Riverview Health Care Centre on July 15, 2002, at the age of 84 years. She was born on July 4, 1918, at Arnes, MB. She grew up in Arnes and graduated from Normal School in 1937. She was a diligent and well respected teacher for two years. Magny married her lifelong partner, Oscar Frank Otter, on June 25, 1939. She gave up her short teaching career to devote her life to her husband and children, which she did so unselfishly for many years. Her childrens happiness was the most important thing in the world to Magny. Magny was predeceased by her sister Margaret Dzydz in 1959 and her brother Steve Sigurdson in 1994. Magnys many hobbies included furniture refinishing and upholstering, sewing and baking. Relatives would wait with great anticipation for her delicious pies every Christmas (especially her unique butterscotch pies!). Left to cherish her memory will be her husband of 63 years, Oscar; her children, Lynn (Betty), Murray (Brenda), and Karen (Del) her grandchildren, Shannon, Lindsay, Evan, Kristyn, and Kyle; her two sisters, Inga and Chris; her two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Haley; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends. Thank you to the 4C staff at Riverview Health Care Centre (a place Magny called home for the past eight months) for their outstanding care and compassion. We were all blessed to have crossed paths with such wonderful people. Cremation has taken place and in accordance with Magnys wishes, there will be no formal service. We would be honoured if relatives and friends would join us Monday, July 22 at 7:00 p.m. to celebrate her life at Riverview Health Care Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Health Science Building, Thomas Sill Auditorium. Donations, if desired, may be made in Magnys memory to the Riverview Health Care Centre Foundation or a charity of ones choice. Rest in peace, Mom. You will be in our hearts FOREVER.
