Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANASTASIA DIRKS November 16, 1900- July 12, 2002 Mother passed away peacefully on July 12, 2002, at the age of 101 years. She was born in the village of Stulnjewo in southern Russia to Samuel and Natalie Schuliak, the fifth child of a family of ten. She married Nicholas Dirks of Waldheim, Russia, and then immigrated to Canada, where they made their home. They became charter members of the North End Mennonite Brethren Church, located on College Avenue at that time. Mothers interest in life centred around her family, and she continually prayed for their spiritual welfare. She enjoyed her home, her garden, dress-making and cooking. Mother was predeceased by her husband Nicholas; her daughter-in-law Karin; her son and daughter-in-law John and Muriel Dirks; and her granddaughter Terry Scheller. She will be affectionately remembered by her children, Walfried and Beth Dirks, Agnes Bernstein, George and Dorothea Penner, Alvin and Esther Dick, Henry and Evelyn Konrad; as well as 32 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. May God give her eternal peace as she enters His kingdom. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church, 145 Henderson Hwy., with interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
