EDWARD ALEXANDER FRITZLER Passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2002, at age 84, at Victoria Hospital. Ed is survived by his wife Erma; and sons, Wayne and Mark; daughter-in-law Jeanette; and grandson Adam. Predeceased by his beloved daughter Linda. Ed was the oldest of six brothers and sisters living in Canada and the United States, Albert Fritzler of Moose Jaw, SK, Robert Frazer of Bend, OR, Martha Cook of Portland, OR, Hilda Biech of Hodgeville, SK and Ella Salloum of Kelowna, BC. Edward was born September 24, 1917 in Morse, SK. Edwards father Alexander emigrated from Russia in 1914, married Catherine Bender of Winnipeg and raised Edward with his siblings on their homestead in Morse, SK. After receiving training as an instrument mechanic in the Canadian Armed Forces during the Second World War, Edward put his natural mechanical abilities to work as a jeweller and precision watchmaker with the T. Eaton Company for 37 years. Ed was also an accomplished musician, enjoying 45 years as first violinist in the Winnipeg Pops Orchestra. Edward will be fondly remembered as a gentle, hardworking man and will be greatly missed by friends and family. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 22, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
