OLGA GARWOOD Mrs. Olga Garwood, aged 87 years, resident of Vista Park Lodge passed away peacefully on July 17, 2002. Olga was born in Morris, MB and came to Winnipeg as a young girl. She married in 1939. Her family and home in St. Vital were her main interests. She was a talented seamstress, fabulous cook, and welcomed spring every year with a dazzling array of flowers and vegetables in her beautifully manicured yard. After the death of her husband in 1967, Olga commenced a new career with the provincial government in the Department of Forestry. With the help of family and friends, and especially her nephew, Ralph Dreger, Olga was able to stay in the home she loved until last year. Left to mourn her passing are her two daughters, Carol (Tom) of Scottsdale, AZ, and Diane (Heine) of Richmond, BC; two sisters, Adeline of Tucson, AZ, and Emily of Victoria, BC; her grandson Ryan of Mesa, AZ; sister-in-law Jessie of Winnipeg, MB; as well as many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Karen and Shelby and the very dedicated caregivers at Vista Park Lodge. At Olgas request, cremation took place July 19 with a private family service. In lieu of flowers, donations if desired, may be made in Olgas memory to a charity of your choice. Rest in peace Mom You will be in our hearts forever.
