Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAULINE GLADISH (nee STRUMBILKI) December 21, 1925 - July 7, 2002 Peacefully, at the Tache Centre, on Sunday, July 7, 2002, Pauline Gladish passed away at the age of 76 years. Pauline was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward Henry Gladish, as well as her brother John. She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Richard, Leonard (Sheila) and Ed Jr. (Shauna) three grandsons, Mike, Steve and Eric; sisters, Mary Semple (Alva), Rose Stempnik, Carol Koltoski, Adelia Vandenheede; brothers, Marvin (Lorraine) and Joseph (Sally). Pauline was born and raised in Rosa, MB. She left the farm to pursue a career with T. Eaton Co. in Winnipeg. She belonged to the Eatons ladies curling club where she made new friends and eventually met and married Edward on May 8, 1947. Together they made their home in St. Boniface, where they raised their family. Mom was a devoted mother and grandmother. She had a love for cooking and would often cook traditional Ukrainian and Polish dishes especially for religious holidays and Sundays that were treasured family times. She especially loved to spend time with her grandsons, because they meant the world to her and she loved them dearly. Mom also had a green thumb and loved to spend time in her vegetable garden and also tending to her flowers, her favourites being her rose bushes. It seemed that anything she planted would just flourish with beauty. Prayers were held for Mom on Monday, July 15 at St. Andrew Bobola Church, 541 Marion St. A celebration of Moms life was held on July 17 at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A gathering of family and friends followed in the reception centre. A private interment took place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the 4ABC staff at the Tache Centre for their care and kindness. Rick would especially like to thank the evening shifts who were always there to help him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8, or to the Canadian National Institute For The Blind, 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3G 9Z9.
