CLARENCE EARL NICKEL Suddenly on Thursday morning, July 18, 2002, at his residence, Clarence Earl Nickel, aged 67 years, of Ashern, MB, formerly of Grahamdale, MB. Clarence was born October 8, 1934, in Grahamdale and attended school at Carnridge. He worked for Comstock for seven years and for Swifts Meats in Winnipeg, MB, for 17 years. Clarence worked as a bartender at the Grahamdale and St. Martin Hotels for a few years. Clarence also farmed with his brother Lawrence at Grahamdale. He made many friends and was well liked by all. Surviving are his wife Mary; six children, Kim Metner, granddaughter Tara of Gypsumville, MB; Cheryl, Lori, and Shannon; two sons, Greg and Cory both of Ottawa, ON; sister Edna of Ashern; brother Lawrence of Ashern; brother Norman (Ruth) of Winnipeg; sister Alma Frohwerk of Winnipeg; brother Bill (Rose) of Winnipeg; also many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Reinhold and Olga. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 23 at 2:00 p.m., in the Grahamdale Community Hall with Pastor Greg Saar officiating. Interment to follow in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alf Howse, Walter Doberstein, Garry Burnett, Dennis Frohwerk, Ken and Brian Nickel. Friends and relatives may pay their respects from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22 at the Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern. Viewing also at the hall prior to the service.
