Offer Condolences or MemoryOLIVE ELRICK (nee KING) Passed away peacefully at home, with family at her side, on Saturday, July 20, 2002 in her 92nd year. Born in Birds Hill, MB on August 4, 1910, daughter of William Henry and Dorothy (Roberts) King. Olive came to Winnipeg to continue her education, graduating from the Childrens Hospital School of Nursing in 1935; married Alan Manson Elrick in 1939 and settled in St. Vital. She was a long time member of St. Marks Church, and until recently was active in the Nurses Alumnae and The Book Market. Family was of utmost importance to her, always supporting their activities. She loved to travel, either to visit family and friends or discover new places. Olives favourite pastimes were family history, stamp collecting, puzzles and gardening. Left to treasure her memory are daughter Marion (Richard) Mantay; sons, Robert (Bernadette), and John (Audrey) grandchildren, Lisa, Kevin, David, Colin, Trevor and Leanne; and great-grandchild. Also survived by sister Agnes (Walter) Hogg; brothers, Hugh (Bertha) Harrison, Norman Harrison and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband Alan in 1980 and brothers, William, Donald, Leslie and Raymond and sisters, Edna, Dorothy and Isobel. In accordance with Olives wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Marks Anglican Church, 19 St. Marks Place in St. Vital with Rev. Ian Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens on Hwy No. 1 East at Navin Rd. Our thanks to all the caregivers and friends who supported Olive in the past few months.
