Married to Helen October 16, 1948, they resided on their farm at Warren where they raised their family. Jack had dairy cows, selling the cream, later changing to beef cattle, along with mixed grain. He was a municipal councillor, on the board of the Pool Elevator, a school trustee of the Warren Consolidated School District, a Warren Memorial Hall Board member, and a school bus driver for the Interlake School Division. He enjoyed many pleasant years fishing and hunting and teaching young hunters the sports. After retiring from active farming he took an avid interest in gardening, woodworking, camping, along with the many family functions that occurred. For a number of years, after retiring, Jack enjoyed helping others with the spring seeding, haying, and fall harvesting. Many nights were passed with friends and family gathered at the Sutton home, when the rug was rolled up and music and dancing filled the air. Cards and story telling filled other evenings where grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always welcomed. Poppa was often called upon to be a chauffeur, emergency Mister Fix-it, parts "getter", snow removal expert, construction consultant, furniture mover, tow truck operator, etc. He was a mentor and advisor whom the family loved. He also loved animals, caring for many favoured dogs and cats over the years. "Tubby" and "Pickles" say goodbye.
