Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILY ZUBRICKI (nee MEDERSKI) Peacefully on July 24, 2002, at the St. Boniface Hospital following a lengthy illness, beloved mother of Ken Zubricki and Susan Martin. She will be fondly remembered by generations of Churchill High students where she worked for 25 years until her retirement in 1983. She will be sadly missed by her family, many friends and "Bingo" buddies, and her special friend and constant companion Norm Forzley. Emily was born in Winnipeg on November 2, 1918, and lived her entire life in Winnipeg. She was an avid worker at her hobby of crocheting and knitting and was very proud to share her work with the elderly in local nursing homes. She is survived by her son Ken and wife Lynne of Toronto, ON; daughter Susan and husband Stan of London, ON. She is also survived by sisters, Wanda Retzlaff and Josephine Fowler in Texas, USA, Sue Trist of Vancouver; and brother Charles Mederski of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her brother William, father John and mother Tina. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Ken Zubricki Jr. of Ottawa, ON, Dave Zubricki of Winnipeg, Lisa Fleury of Brockville, ON, and Jason Martin of Toronto. In addition, she is survived by six great-grandchildren, with the seventh due to arrive in December. A special thank you to all the caring staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their devotion over the past months. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, they can send a donation in her memory to a charity of their choice. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
