FRANCES LOUISE PATERSON (TRAUB) April 24, 1902 - July 26, 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frances at her home on Friday, July 26, 2002. Frances was born April 24, 1902, in Huntley, IL into a family that eventually totalled 19 with 17 children. The family moved to Saskatchewan to farm. In her younger years she worked as a housemaid and a housekeeper. In her mid 20s she married Fred and eventually they had 10 children, and one adopted. Frances cherished her family, working hard all her life to provide a loving home for them. At the age of 58 years she was widowed leaving her to raise her two youngest sons. To support her family she cleaned and later became a cook working at a nursing home and at summer camps for children. Towards the end of her 60s Frances began to treat herself a bit. She began to travel, by the time she quit traveling at 80, shed been across Canada, the United States, Europe, England, and Hawaii. Frances was a longtime resident of No. 1-338 Young St., where she raised her family. Moving to 793 Garwood Ave. with her son Billy and daughter Pat, where they resided for 30 years. At the time of her passing, she was a resident of 163 Rowandale Ave. Throughout her life she especially loved to see the youngest of the family, grow and enjoy special times. The most important time was Christmas, to have as many family members as possible sit down to a Christmas dinner, with a visit from Santa. During the last five years, great-granddaughters, Brandi and Kyla, great-great granddaughter Elizabeth entertained her during their visits. Frances was predeceased by her husband Fred; sons, Roddy, Jimmy, Ricky; daughter Kay; adopted daughter Anne; sons-in-law, Jack, Ben and Lowell; daughter-in-law Jean; great-granddaughter Teri-Lynn; her mother, father and 15 siblings. She is survived by son Billy; daughters, Bea, Vi, Dorothy (Walter), Pat, Diane (Keith) daughter-in-law Sharon; son-in-law Jim Daley; sister Tess (Arthur), 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends are invited to join the family for viewing on Monday July 29, 2002 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Allan Sexsmith, Ken Chura, Kurt Lerch, Leslie Bowes, Stan Paterson and great-grandson Mike Lemon. Frances wished to thank Dr. Lage for her outstanding care and compassion over the years. Also a large thank you to all of the people involved in her care at home, especially the home care girls who went the extra mile for her. A special thank you to daughter Pat, granddaughters, Nancy and Alana. Flowers are gratefully accepted, or if wished a donation may be made to Parkinson Society of Manitoba, 204-825 Sherbrook St. Frances was our angel on earth, with a huge heart of gold. Who always had room for one more at her table, an ear to listen, a word of wisdom, a gentle kiss and a warm hug. She is now our angel in heaven. "Forever Loved".
