PHILIP PERLOV

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHILIP PERLOV Peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2002, passed away in Toronto at the age of 91. Philip is survived by his wife of 64 years, Chasia; his children, Claire Goldman, Saul Perlov (Judy), David Perlov (Aarona), and Yvette Perlov; grandchildren, Melanie Flaitcher (Steven), Jared Goldman (Helen), Marc and Jennifer Perlov, Daniel and Allison Perlov; and great-grandchildren, Shannon, Samantha, Matthew and Marchi. Philip was born on November 15, 1910, in Pinsk, Poland. He was involved in the family bakery and married Chasia in 1938. Shortly after he was conscripted into the Polish Army, and later into the Russian Army. After the start of the Second World War, he, his wife and daughter were exiled to Siberia where they remained until 1946. In 1948, the family with a second child, arrived in Canada and settled in Winnipeg where Philip continued to work as a baker. In 1955, Philip, now 45, and Chasia opened up Eat Well Bakery on Dufferin and Charles which they operated until 1967 when the property was expropriated. He then worked for a number of years as the baker for the Carlton Club and then for the Marlborough Hotel. In his retirement Philip remained physically active. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren, reading, working around the home and gardening. In 1997, Philip and Chasia moved to Toronto where three of their four children reside. Philip was totally devoted to his family. He and Chasia were inseparable. He is sadly missed and will always be remembered by his family. The funeral took place at Steeles Memorial Chapel in Toronto on July 19, 2002. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the charity of choice of the giver.
