MARGARET AKSAMIT Peacefully on Friday July 26, 2002 Margaret Aksamit passed away at the age of 77. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother and very proud recent grandmother. Margaret loved people and always carried a warm smile. She had a warm and friendly personality that will be greatly missed. Margaret came to Canada in 1945 following the Second World War with her mother, Gertrude Benecki. In 1951 she married her true love, Stanley Aksamit and she remained married for 35 years until his passing in 1986. Together they raised a family of two children, Diane and Bernadette. Margaret loved her daughters and husband dearly and selflessly dedicated her life to them. Margaret loved entertaining friends and family and loved baking delicious tortes and preparing traditional Polish and German dishes. She was an elegant dresser and loved to go out dancing and enjoy life to the fullest. She enjoyed riding her bike with her girls and times at Victoria Beach during the summers with her family. She volunteered and was active in the Polish community and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 246 for many years. Margaret was an active resident of Villa Cabrini and she made many friends and enjoyed trips and outings. Margaret was a very proud grandma and it was a blessing that she was recently able to attend her grandsons baptism. Margaret will be sadly missed by her daughter Diane Aksamit, son-in-law Daryl Newis, grandson Bryden Stanley Newis of Winnipeg and daughter Bernadette of Calgary. The family would like to thank Margarets companions. A special thank you to Margarets dedicated friend, Sherri LaFrance for her love and kindness and compassionate care. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, July 30, at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 31, at 10:00 a.m. also at Holy Rosary Parish with Fr. Sam Argenziano officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. Mom, Grandma, we love you and will miss you You will be forever in our hearts CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
