EMILY (MILLIE) HALLMUTH It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest mother, gramsbear and great-grandmother on July 27, 2002 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Mum was born June 20, 1918, in Winnipeg to her parents, George and Amelia Sterkell. She was the oldest of eight children. She was raised in Winnipeg, attending Laura Secord and King Edward Schools. She met George Hallmuth in Winnipeg and they were married on May 22, 1943, spending 35 years together. Their union was blessed with three children, Barbara, Bruce and Pat. She was a caring and devoted mother who gave unselfishly to family and friends. Mum was at home, most of her married life, nurturing a loving and Christian home atmosphere. In the early years, Mum worked seasonally at the post office, Pauline Chambers and cleaning houses. Her favorite memories were of bus trips taken through Canada and the United States. In more recent years, those special times included Mondays with the seniors at the North Centennial Pool and Wednesday afternoons with Joyce and the gang in the kitchen at Inkster Seniors. Through her illness, Mum seldom complained. Whenever you did something to help her, she would say "Im sorry to have wasted another afternoon for you", when the opposite was true. Spending time with such a gentle person was anything but a waste of time. Her outlook always remained positive. We would like to especially thank nurse, Ruth Byquist of the Kildonan Medical Center for the way she helped and supported mum, and the wonderful doctors and nurses of the Palliative Care Center at St. Boniface Hospital. Thank you for the dignity you bestowed on mum. Emily was predeceased by her sister Elsie (1941) parents, George and Amelia Sterkell (1976) her husband George (1978) brothers, Albert (1982) and Harold (1985). Mum will be remembered with thanksgiving by her children, Barbara (Arnold) Munsters, Pat (Zennon) Odut, and Bruce (Joanne) Hallmuth; grandchildren, Kim Munsters (Lorence) and great-grandchildren, Kiera and Cody; Wendy Munsters; Darren (Virginia) Munsters and great-grandchildren, Ashley and Brooke; Jaclynn (Stephen) Kisil and Kristyne Hallmuth; sisters, Molly (Emil) Toma and Joan Sterkell; and many special friends and relatives. At her request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 815 Inkster Blvd. on Wednesday, July 31, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Paul Gehrs officiating Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, donations may be made to CancerCare, 675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, R3E 0V9 or the Memorial Fund of Christ Lutheran Church. A journey is ended. A final bridge crossed. A lifetime of kindness, Fills our memory box. Go in peace Mum, you have completed your task. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
