Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryETHEL MAY PLANTE (nee LAWTON) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Ethel May Plante, with family at her side, on Sunday, July 27, 2002 at the Grace General Hospital, at the age of 76 years. She will forever be in the hearts of her four children, Linda (Dennis), Lloyde (Gherri), Larry (Cindy), Lenore (Bill) nine grandchildren, Trena (Derek), Taralee (Carmen), Jeff (Yvette), Scott, Brent, Amber, Colton, Chad and Kyle; sister Margaret; and numerous friends and relatives. Mom was predeceased by her parents and husband of 47 years, Alfred. Mom held a variety of positions throughout her working life, formally retiring from Holiday Haven in 1985. She had various interests and was active in the community, holding membership at several local clubs including the Centennial Pool Swim Club, Deer Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, Seniors Bowling League and the Royal Canadian Legion Card Club. She was an avid sports fan, enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and knitting. Her family was her pride and joy; family gatherings were her greatest source of enjoyment. Grandma could frequently be found at one of her grandchildrens dance recitals or various sporting events. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 1 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anns Roman Catholic Church, 271 Hampton St. We wish to thank Dr. Young and ICU staff at Grace Hospital for their care and compassion. Special thanks to Bernice and Aunty Lorraine for their devoted friendship. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ethels memory may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot St., Winnipeg. MB. I met "Uncle" Fred and "Auntie" Merle when I was just a kid and they were friends of my Grandma, Frances Rout. I don't know why they came to my mind now after almost 40 years, but I remember them being so cute together. He was so imposing to me as a little kid but so kind and funny! Auntie Merle was fascinating! The things you remember, I hope my little memory brings you a smile today like it does for me. - Posted by: Adam Rout (Friend of the family) on: May 26, 2021
