Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I'll always remember the summers of the 1960's spent at Longbow Lake near Kenora as neighbours of the the Tyre family. Jean was always at the centre of the action especially playing cards at night. She won a boat and motor in a radio contest one winter and we all learned to waterski which we did for hours almost every day, every year. Countless hours were spent on their dock with Jean, Joy and all the kids. She had a wonderful sense of humour and she and my mother Marion got along famously. We always looked forward excitedly to their arrival at the cottage for a summer of swimming, fishing, water skiing, cards and good times. The day they'd leave for home at the end of August was always sad because it meant summer was over and we'd have to wait until the next July to see them all again. Jean and her husband Bob were always so nice and kind to Mom, Bob and I and always made us feel like we were a part of their family. I wish I'd had the opportunity to tell her that. If any of the family happens to read this, thank you for so many wonderful times and memories that will last a lifetime. Bless you Jean. - Posted by: Don Grant (Friend of the family) on: Jul 03, 2013
