JUANITA (NITA) CROMPTON With her daughter by her side, Nita peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at age 77 years. She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Neil (Dale), Roy, Craig; and daughter Karen (Bob) eight grandchildren; brother Lloyd (Lorraine) sister Margaret; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Nita was predeceased by her husband Wilf in January 2001; parents, Melvin and Matilda; brothers, William, Edward, Donald; and her sister May. Nita loved children and was never afraid of a challenge so at an early age she began a teaching career that took her to Eriksdale, MB. This was followed by a position teaching at the communities of Klemtu and Kitamat in Northern British Columbia. While living in these communities, Nita performed duties not only as a teacher, she also provided medical aid and a host of other duties crucial to life in a remote community. After returning to Manitoba, she taught in High Bluff and Hodgson. Following her marriage and having her children, Nita again returned to teaching. This time it was Kindergarten, first in her home and then at Crestview School in Winnipeg. In September 1968, Nita began a new chapter in her career opening Aunty Nitas Day Care Center which she operated for some 20 years. A countless number of children received care, love and guidance from Aunty Nita and her staff. Retiring from her Day Care in 1988 enabled her to spend more time with her family and church activities. Failing health provided many challenges that she faced with determination and the help of her strong faith. Nita will be remembered for her gracious manner, kind nature and immense love for her family and friends. Nitas funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 6 at 1:00 p.m. in the Starbuck United Church, Starbuck, MB, with Rev. Peter Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Starbuck United Church Cemetery. For those who wish, viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Our family would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospital for the kindness and care Mom received from them on her visits there and also to Dr. C. Fletcher for his expertise and dedication in the years he has cared for Mom. Bless you all. In lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Nitas memory may be made to a charity of your choice. "We love you Mom and take comfort in knowing you are free from pain and once again with Dad". WOJCIKS ALL BELIEFS & FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
