BURTON DONNELLY Peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at the Riverview Health Centre, Burton Donnelly passed away at age 88. Burt was born on May 5, 1914 in Gesto, ON to Rev. Dr. Walter Donnelly and his wife Edith. He grew up in Southern Ontario and graduated from Albert College in Brockville. He and wife Alice (Kirkpatrick) lived briefly in Stratford before moving to Winnipeg in 1947 where his father was Pastor of Young United Church. Burt worked for Eatons until his retirement in 1981. In 1996, he was predeceased by Alice, his wife of 54 years. Burt was also predeceased by three sisters, Lois (Gongos), Nora (Worth) and Vera (Grey). Left to cherish his memory are sons, Robert and Allan; and daughter Diane, husband Craig Kellas and their four children, Cole, Matt, Jordan and Will; and sister Doris (Payne) of Madison, SD; brothers-in-law, Cliff Worth, John Gongos, Bob Payne and Lawrie Grey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours. His kindness and generosity affected us all. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at the Riverview Health Centre. At Burts request, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Interment will take place at a later date in Garry Memorial Park.
