ELMER GERARD PITRE July 16, 1923 - July 29, 2002 On July 29, 2002 at Foyer Valade Nursing Home, beloved husband and father Elmer Pitre passed away at 79 years of age. He leaves to mourn his wife Jean and 10 caring children. Sons, Marcel (Lucille), Glenn (Lucille), Elmer Jr., Donald (Carole) daughters, Cathy (Brian), Donna (Tim), Irene (Marc), Midge, Annette, and Jeanine. Elmers brothers, Andy (Hilda), Oliver (Vera), Marcel (Margaret). Sisters, Cece Schollie, Audrey Kansas and 23 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Elmer was predeceased by his mother and father, Martha and Joseph; brothers, Albert, Raymond, Joe Jr.; one sister Rita Schilling; and a grandson Rene. Elmer was employed as a crane operator for Dominion Bridge through most of his career while providing amply for his large family. A very deserved retirement followed by 10 years of continued good health allowed him to care for a large productive garden which he proudly shared with everyone. We are unable to give enough thanks to Elmers caregivers at Foyer Valade who looked after his needs for four years as he suffered from Alzheimers. Their help made life easier for his wife and children. The funeral mass will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1 at St. Emile Church, 556 St. Annes Rd., with Rev. Fr. Rene Peteers as the celebrant. Interment to follow immediately after mass at St. Vital Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined as a special collection will be taken at the funeral for masses to be said for Elmer throughout the year. Refreshments will be served following the interment. P.
