MOLLY MYERS Molly Myers, our dear wife, mother and Baba passed away on July 30, 2002. Left in sorrow are Barry, her husband of 56 years; her children, Randy Schwartz, Denny and Mel Hornstein and Jerry and David Shrom; and her beloved grandchildren, Jory; Rory and Ian; David, Lainey, Yael and Saul. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Shukster; her brother Myer (Lila) Ludwig; her mother-in-law Gertrude Blumenthal; her sister-in-law Toby Ludwig; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sheldon and Audrey Levy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Molly was predeceased by her father Jim Ludwig and her mother Rose Chernick; as well as her brothers, George, Asher and Sammy Ludwig. Molly was born on September 1, 1926. Through her childhood and youth she formed many friendships which have endured through to her final years. There are many who know her as a beautiful woman with a vibrant and quiet sense of humour. Married in 1945 she began the chapters of her life for which she is most remembered and for which she will be most missed. Mollys home was her castle. Her family was the constant recipient of her nurture, guidance and love. Molly gave these gifts to her husband in all his endeavours. Her daughters learned from her valuable lessons of basic regard and respect of others. As prodigy of Molly, they mirror her dedication to enabling and encouraging all others to set personal goals and pursue them with unconditional support. All of her grandchildren had a very special place in Mollys heart, which she freely opened to each one of them in an individual way, to suit their needs and their personalities all of which she cherished. The last two decades of Mollys life were highly characterized by her struggles with ever increasing physical disabilities and very much by her inner, personal battles with depression. All those close to her have come to acknowledge the strength it took for her to survive and meet these challenges everyday. Yet, it is through this time that her ability to listen to the words and feelings of others, and to sustain supportive relationships was proven again and again. There are many beyond her family that now find there is a gaping hole in their hearts because they have lost the personal conversations with a woman who understood pain because she lived with it, who understood what it was to struggle against enormous barriers, and who understood that acceptance of people for the best of what they have to offer is always enough. Molly was a resident of the Sharon Home for the last four years. The family extends grateful commendation to the staff for their excellent care and attention to her needs. We especially want to thank Nellie Maliwanag, for her devotion and faithful companionship, which Molly valued so highly. Thank-you to Dr. Monica Czarnecka for her exceptional care and the respect she showed to Molly and our family with every visit and phone call. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 31 at Congregation Etz Chayim. Donations in memory of Molly can be made to the Sharon Home Inc. Molly will be greatly missed by all her family and those who knew her. May her soul be forever bound in the bond of life.
