MARY SOLARZ (nee SANDRK) In loving memory of our Baba, Big Baba, Sister, Aunt and loving Friend, Mary, who passed away August 1, 2002 at the age of 82. She went to join her dear sons, Gregory and Tony; husband Stanley; brothers, Johnny and Joey; and father and mother, Luka and Eva. She leaves behind nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren (and another on the way) sister Stephie; nieces and nephews as well as many adoring friends. Mary was born in Winnipeg on May 26, 1920 and lived in the North End all of her life. Her second family of over 50 years were the members of the Polish Fraternal Aid Society of St. John Cantius. Mary kept busy throughout her life by attending church, playing bingo, bowling, cooking, socializing, gardening and finally travelling. She was past President of her bowling alley and volunteered on the social and sick committees. Mary was a vibrant soul. Her presence on earth will be missed yet her memory and love will be with everyone who was touched by her grace. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 6 at 10:30 with visitation at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church, 846 Burrows Ave., with Rev. Fr. Henryk Uczniak officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Marys memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
