Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHENRY EUGENE SCHNERCH Peacefully on August 3, 2002 Henry passed away at the age of 85 years. Henry is survived by his wife Rose of 30 years, his daughter Laura Schareck (Hans), daughter Audrey Blazek (Joe), and son Henry Michael Schnerch (Tulip). He is also survived by his stepchildren, Bob and Florence Blazek, Ed and Patti Blazek, and Joan Vermaak; his sisters, Josephine Reichert, Magdelene Gottfried (Adam), Mary Elerby; and one brother Peter Schnerch (Theresa). Henry is survived by his 12 loving grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Henry was predeceased by his first wife Louise Gottfried and many brothers and sisters. Henry was born in Camp Morton, MB, on April 1, 1917 and moved to Red Lake, ON in his 20s, where he worked at Campbell Red Lake Mine for over 30 years as a plumber and pipefitter, until his retirement. Henry loved the outdoors and spent much time with his family fishing and picking berries. During his early retirement years, he spent much time at the cottage, building, repairing and fishing. This was his favourite pastime. Henry was a charter member and honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus and gave much of his time during his younger years helping with the work of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Balmertown. A mass celebrating the life of Henry was held on Wednesday, August 7. He was laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery. The pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Christopher Botterill, J.D. Blazek, Lindsay Botterill, Jules Fontaine, Tim Vermaak, Rick Blazek, Lynne Botterill, Faith Fontaine, Lisa Barc, Greg Blazek, and Marcie Schareck. Henrys family wish to especially thank the caregivers of Northwoods Lodge for their wonderful care of him during the past year, the nurses at the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital during his numerous stays and the doctors and staff of the Red Lake Medical Centre for being there for him.
