MARGARET LOUISE (MARGOT) McCALLUM (nee HOESCHEN) It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother, Margaret Louise (Margot) McCallum, on August 4, 2002 at the Victoria General Hospital. Margot was born in Saskatoon, SK on November 29, 1917, the youngest child of Ben and Margaret Hoeschen. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Donald Robinson McCallum, sister Bernadine Bujila, brother John (Alma), and brother Norman (Grace). Margot leaves to mourn her loss her son John (Debbie) granddaughter Pamela (Gord) grandson Jamie; great-granddaughters, Julia and Rachel; and many nieces and nephews. Margot (Auntie Mung) was especially close to her niece Margot King, with whom she enjoyed many holiday trips and adventures. Margot had a great zest for life: her family, travel, games, movies, animals (Benji and Joe), and especially golf. Just over a month ago she walked nine holes at St. Charles and shot a 50. Her husband Donald was a career banker with the Bank of Montreal and together they enjoyed postings in a number of places, including Prescott, Toronto, Montreal, New York, and London, England. Margot was a very devout Christian woman and lived her Catholic faith with great devotion. Pamela and Jamie will treasure forever the three week trips to England and Scotland on which she took each of them for their 13th birthdays, as well as the summers at her home in Mississauga. Pamela and Jamie adored their grandmother, as did everyone who knew her. Our family is very grateful to Margots many friends who were so supportive of her through her illness, especially Shirley, Joan and Jessie. Margot had wonderful friends. We want to thank the dedicated nurses, doctors and support staff at Victoria General Hospital, in particular Joanne, Linda, Dr. Ian Maxwell, and Dr. Robyn Olson, for their kindness, special care and wisdom. We will celebrate Margots life at a funeral mass on August 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave., with Fr. Sam Argenziano officiating. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Margots memory to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2E8, or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. Mom/Granny, we love you. You will forever be in our hearts. Arrangements have been entrusted to: EDWARD J. COUTU LTD. 680 Archibald Street 253-5086
