WALTER AUGUST SCHUPPEL It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Walter Schuppel at the age of 74 years on Sunday, August 4, 2002, at the Riverview Health Centre. Besides his beloved wife Ruth of 49 years of marriage; Walter is survived by his daughter Loretta (Alan Reutner) and son Robert; nephew Walter Robert Schuppel; niece Rita Renner of Leiman, Germany and by numerous relatives and friends in both Germany and Canada. Walter was a long time resident of Winnipeg, immigrating to Canada in 1951 from Germany. He worked in various lumber camps until 1953 when he moved to Winnipeg and started work at Brown and Rutherford Millwork. In November of the same year, his fiancee, Ruth, arrived in Winnipeg and thereafter were soon married. Walter worked at Brown and Rutherford until his retirement in 1991. He took great pride and enjoyment in his cottage at Lundar Beach where he spent most of his summers during his retirement. In compliance with Walters wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, the family asks that donations in Walters memory may be made to the Palliative Care Department, Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 2P4.
