GUSTAVE "GUS" ETHIER Peacefully with his family by his side at the Victoria Hospital on Monday, August 5, 2002 Gus Ethier beloved husband of Grace Ethier (nee Town) passed away at the age of 86 years. Gus was born on June 24, 1916 in St. Boniface and was the youngest of seven children. He grew up at Victoria Beach and maintained his love for that area throughout his life. He was employed at the CNR until his retirement in 1977. Gus enjoyed his family life, cooking, playing the ponies, and his occasional Brandy. He loved visiting his special niece Maureen Young and husband Bob, special nephews Norman and Peter, and sister-in-law Eileen. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Grace; his son David McNeil and wife Joyce; his daughter Marion Jonassen and husband Bob; his daughter Jeanette Ethier Delisle and husband David; grandchildren, Charles, Christine and husband Roy, Tanya and partner Brad, Laura, Daniel, Steven; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Ashley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gus was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Georgina, Phil, Bertha, Fortune, Marie, and Ernie; his son Stephen McNeil; and his niece Lorraine Ethier. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
