SHIRLEY IRENE STASENSKI (nee WARDELL) March 26, 1930 - August 6, 2002 Peacefully, Mrs. Shirley Stasenski passed away at the Misericordia Personal Care Home on August 6, 2002 at the age of 72. Shirley was predeceased by her loving husband Stanley Stasenski; sister Gladys Rimmington; and brothers, Harold, Gerald, Ken and George Wardell. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Michael and Pat (Elaine) granddaughter Sara; grandson Kevin of Calgary, AB; and daughter Sue Stasenski of Vancouver, BC. Shirley was born on March 26, 1930 in Winnipeg. She married Stanley in 1951, they moved to Vancouver in 1976 and then returned to Winnipeg in 1981. She loved her cats and had several over the years, some of who were Jinx, Yachi, Zen and Arthur who was with her just up until she passed away. Mom loved to visit her brother, George, and sister, Gladys, in Calgary and spent many family vacations with them. The trip to Hawaii with them was one of her fondest memories. Mom played bingo twice a week and had many friends there. She was also an avid bowler in her younger days. Memorial service will be held on Friday, August 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8 or to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Road, Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3.
