GEORGE HENRY CLAEYS Peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 George passed away at the age of 80 years. He is survived by his loving wife Bertha (Paquin), his only son Robert, daughter-in-law Nancy. He will also be missed by his granddaughters, Michelle and husband Gary Bell, and Shannon Claeys. Also surviving, his aunt Helen Pouteau; brother Bill (Gertie) sister Angela Cloutier (Gerry) brother Roger (Alice) sister-in-law Denise Claeys; the Paquin family; and many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Marie Claeys; brother Gilbert; and sister Madeleine Pattyn. George was born in Mariapolis, MB February 11, 1922 and moved to Winnipeg, where he was employed as a general contractor until his retirement. He lived most of his adult life in St. Boniface where he made many friends. He enjoyed his family, the horse races and hunting when he was younger. He was a life member of the Belgian Club. Many thanks to Dr. P.G. Mehta for his years of care and support and the staff at Central Park Lodge for their kindness and care. Cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance will take place on Friday, August 9 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St., with Rev. Dr. Patrick Morand presiding.
