HELEN FROESE September 4, 1916 - August 7, 2002 Peacefully after a very lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Helen changed her residence to a better place where promises are always kept. Helen is survived by her two sisters, Anna and Kay. After the death of her father John in 1952 and her mother Anna in 1962, she also mourned the passing of five brothers, two sister-in-laws, one nephew and a niece. Besides her two sisters she leaves to cherish her memory three sister-in-laws, nine nieces, seven nephews and their respective families in various parts of Canada. As a country girl growing up during the depression, times were tough so she left the family farm at McCreary at a very early age to seek work in Winnipeg. As years went by she was employed as a coil winder, adjuster, electrical assembler, technician and lastly off-set printer, at such firms as Wahl Manufacturing, Addison TV, CAE, Bristol Aero, James B. Carter, Willson Stationery and Lance Publishers. All this by a country girl with a very limited education. Being a hard worker and uniquely independent, she would always strive for perfectionher pride and joy was a nice home and beautiful furniture with a well-landscaped yard. Working well beyond retirement age she did manage to take in a few holidays. Helen loved campfires, and with a travel trailer visited many lovely places from coast to coast for 25 years. A tour of the South Pacific including Fiji was a trip to remember. However the last five years were not kind to her, and she developed many health problems. Our deepest gratitude to Dr. Mulder, nurses and staff at Riverview Health Centre 3E Palliative Care for their wonderful loving care and compassion. Also sincere thanks to our longtime friend Beryl Larsson, family and friends for their help and support with visits, cards, flowers and prayers during this most difficult time. Helen was a very strong and feisty person with deep feelings for everyone of her large family. She leaves us with many fond memories and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Now God has spoken and granted her peace and freedom of pain and suffering. At Helens request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey Street). In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Helens memory to a charity of ones choice. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
