REMEDIOS BAUTISTA MEDRANO 1926 - 2002 Peacefully, with her family by her side, Remedios Bautista Medrano went to be with her Creator on Wednesday, August 7, 2002. Remedios leaves to cherish her memory her children and their respective families, Lolito and wife Asuncion, Linda and husband Tito, Jaime and Jeremy, Benjamin and wife Linda, Fred and wife Dolly, Julita and husband Isidro, Delfin and wife Alegcia, Mario and wife Sandra, Sylvia and husband Gary, Rebecca and husband Rey, Ruben and Jen; 30 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She will also be greatly missed by her brothers, Teofilo, Jose, Ricardo and Rudy in the Philippines; as well as her sister Maria Bautista in San Francisco, CA; sisters-in-law, Aurelia, Francisca and Rufina in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband in 1973. Remedios was born in Mangaldan, Pangasinan, the Philippines on Friday, October 1, 1926, and married Estanislao Medrano in 1942. She immigrated to Winnipeg in 1980. Remedios was a devoted wife and mother raising her 11 children and was a wonderful and loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Lamay will be held on Sunday, August 11 from 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight), with funeral service commencing at 7:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St., with Pastor Fred Sebastian officiating. Remedios earthly remains will be returned to her homeland in the Philippines for burial at a later date. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to all of her caregivers at the Health Sciences Centre Dialysis Unit, especially Dr. Keiven Bernstein, family and friends for all acts of kindness that were bestowed upon her and her family.
