Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERTHA NEMEROVSKY (nee BATKIS) 1908 - 2002 Bertha Nemerovsky passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Winnipeg, on August 7, 2002, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband Harry; and brothers, Morris, Charlie, Schmuel and Yoel. She is survived by her daughters, Bernice Hendin (David), Blanche Gorsky (Morley), and Edith Doctoroff; and sisters, Sarah Izen and Bella Miller. She was the cherished grandmother of Tom Gorsky (Dr. Rose Bloomberg), Diane Gorsky (Dr. Manohar Bance), Nadine Gorsky (Dr. Jon Mills), Rhea Krawetz, Shari Fraser (Rob), Allan Hendin, and Michele Doctoroff (Ted Switzer). She took great pride and delight in all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Selene, Jared, Chloe, Jason, Tyrone, Shannon, Angela, Kim and Sydney. She will be remembered for her warm heart and her love and delight in singing Yiddish songs. Her grandchildren and great-grand-children were extremely fond of her. They will have wonderful memories of her. She will be sorely missed by Goldie, her friend at the Sharon Home, with whom she had a special relationship. The family would like to express their thanks to the pallbearers, Rhea Krawetz, Shari Fraser, Michele Doctoroff, Ted Switzer, Ari Marantz and Howard Jesiersky. The family would also like to express their appreciation to the many exceptional and caring staff at the Sharon Home, especially Charlene, Sandy and Fern and the companions, Margaret and Hanna. Graveside service was held at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. In Berthas memory, donations may be made to the Sharon Home or the charity of your choice.
