LARRY PROSHEN It is with a deep heartfelt sadness, after a brief illness, that we announce the passing of our Dad, Larry Proshen at his residence on Wednesday, August 7, 2002, at the age of 61 years, following a brief illness. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Brad, Tracy, Todd (Debbie), Shane and Ryan; their mother Marilyn; grandchildren, Darron, Kara, Brittany, Cassandra, Zachary and Nicolas. Dad was born in Gorlitz, SK, on December 16, 1940. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force, having graduated from the Institute of Aviation Medicine. He eventually moved on after about five years and then worked as a Correctional Officer at Stoney Mountain Penitentiary. Highlighting Dads career achievements, for which he was so proud, was when he joined the Winnipeg Police Force, having later being assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Division (Plainclothes). Dad was good at what he did. He was often referred to as "Kojak" and he received many commendations. He enjoyed spending time with his family and for this we have very fond memories. On Monday, August 12, at 1:00 p.m. Dads funeral service will be held in the Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave. at Belvidere Street. Our family wishes to express sincere thanks to Dr. Kirk, Mark Shepherd and the nurses who visited Dad (Mariette and Chris). Your compassion, caring and understanding will never be forgotten. We would also like to thank the Veterans Affairs (Lina Matos). Dad was very appreciative and moved for the services you provided. Our family is very grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. "Dad we love you so much, We will miss you. You will be in our hearts forever, Until we meet again in Heaven." WOJCIKS ALL BELIEFS & FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
