Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Bill leaves his wife of 49 years, Rachelle; sons, Daniel (Eileen; grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah), Marc (Sandy; granddaughters, Kati, Nicole), Eric (Bev; grandsons, Jordon, Benjamin, Patrick), Greg (Sheila; grandson Dmitri) and one daughter, Susan, whom he greatly cherished. He earned Bachelor and Master of Education Degrees from the University of Alberta and taught at various levels in Alberta schools. In 1968, Bill assumed the role of Science Curriculum Consultant for the Department of Education, Province of Manitoba. He remained in this role until his retirement in 1988. Throughout his career, Bill had a positive influence on the lives of many individuals. Bill had an avid interest in the world, a generous spirit, provided thoughtful counsel, and was devoted to his family. Those who entered the circle of Bills light received his love and friendship. His arrival was often proceeded by his whistling, an expression of his Joie de Vive and positive attitude. During his lifetime, Bill was involved in a number of service organizations, helping where he saw a need. His greatest joys in life were family and the outdoors. Bills love of family showed during family gathering where he could always be heard above the murmur - laughing, joking and enjoying the fellowship. His contagious laugh made you smile. During his latter years, his grandchildren were a source of tremendous joy. Bill also loved the serenity of his lakeside cottage. A prayer vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, and a funeral liturgy at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, at Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Dr., Winnipeg, with Father Carl Tarnopolski officiating. Private internment will follow on Thursday at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. The family thanks the many individuals who provided love and support throughout Bills illness. Thanks to Father Carl Tarnopolski, the staff at Riverview, Dr. Scott Young, and all others involved in his care. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of choice. He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much. Bill may have moved on to a brighter place, but he will always be in our hearts and souls - and at every family gathering. Papa, you will always be loved, never forgotten. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
