Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVALENTINE ARNOULD (nee ST. AMAND) November 24, 1906 - August 10, 2002 Peacefully, after a full and happy life, our dearest and beloved mother, Valentine, passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. She will be greatly missed by her sons, Roger (Olga) and Raymond (Frances) daughters, Irene (Gerard) and Angele; daughters-in-law, Marie-Therese (Yves) and Diane. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her brother Tom Gelineau (Betty) 20 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Valentine was the last surviving member of the Octave and Emma St. Amand family. She was predeceased by her husband Alex; her sons, Normand and Aime; and by her son-in-law Germain. Valentine loved and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the love of her life and she always had quality time for them all. Mother spent most of her life in Lorette and in Ile-des-Chenes. Her favourite pastimes were knitting, sewing and looking after her grandchildren. In her younger years, she spent many hours working in the fields and doing farm chores. Even at the ripe old age of 92, she loved to sit on her riding mower and cut the lawn. Her pride and joy was her garden. She enjoyed sharing her bounty of vegetables with friends and neighbours. Many memorable evenings were spent playing cards and it was never too late for another marble game. The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to Dr. R. Davey and the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital, especially the orderlies who tried so hard to comfort our mom. Special thanks also to the Ste. Anne and St. Pierre homecare who sent us such warm and devoted caregivers, especially her special companion, Emilienne Gougeon. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Armand LeGal in the Notre-Dame-de-la-Misericorde Church in Ile-des-Chenes, MB on Wednesday, August 14 at 2:00 p.m. Viewing will take place one-half hour prior, at 1:30 p.m. Interment will take place in the Ile-des-Chenes Parish Cemetery following the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Valentines memory to Development and Peace, in care of ones parish church or to the M.S. Society, 141 Bannatyne Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 0R3.
