STANLEY LLOYD BALDWIN June 18, 1926 - August 10, 2002 After a full and happy life, Stanley passed away at the age of 76, peacefully on August 10, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his brother Doug Baldwin of Gimli; nephews, Jim (wife Diane and son Braydon) Baldwin, Don (wife Janetta and baby Sasha) Baldwin, Norman Baldwin, Michael (Teegan and Kiara) Baldwin; nieces, Janit Baldwin-Goldsborough and Laura Gilbert. Stanley was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Emily Baldwin; brother Walter Baldwin; good friend Joan Baldwin. Also his long time, very special lady companion Alice Wilson. Stanley was born in Winnipeg and also lived here the majority of his life. His schooling consisted of graduating with honours from O.M.C.I. University of Manitoba with degrees in B.S.C. and M.S.C. In 1953, Stanley was employed at Canada Packers in which he worked in the lab. From 1954 - 1964, he worked for the Federal Government, chemical warfare. With his intelligence he was founder of State Industries, which was holder to many patents. Items which patents were granted include anchor cable, lined elbow, lined valve, air drill muffler, polyurethane metering and mixing machine, parts for buses, tractors, mining and agricultural industries and damage resistant headlight. Being an engineer he was totally dedicated to his work. For his leisure time on a weekend, Stanley enjoyed going to Gimli and Arborg to visit family and friends. He also did his fair share of travelling to many places. His greatest adventures were going to Texas for the winters with his special friend Alice. Stanley also had a heart of Texas. To family and friends, he was tremendously helpful and generous. His abundance of knowledge and wisdom truly paid off for him in life. He leaves us with many fond memories and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Our deepest gratitude to Dr. J. Geddes, Dr. Lamba, nurses and staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their wonderful loving care and compassion. Also sincere thanks to family and friends for their help and support with visits, cards, flowers and bringing the treats that Stanley loved. At Stanleys request cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 15 at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Stanleys memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8.
