IVY JOAN TRUMBLEY Ivy Trumbley, aged 77, succumbed to a lengthy illness on August 11, 2002, at the Grace Hospital. She was predeceased by her grandson Mark. Ivy is survived by her children, Barb (Bob) Shirley, May Humphreys, Brian (Janine) Trumbley, Patty (Terry) Gifford, Kevin (Ardis) Trumbley, and Pam (Rod) Toround; grandchildren, Tony, Cheryl, Robyn, Dori, Denise, Diana, David, Michael, Gayle, Neil, Tobi, Kevin Jr., Joelle and Christine; as well as grand and great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters in England; and her in-laws in Winnipeg. Ivy was born in England and immigrated to Canada as a war bride in 1946. She retired from the Deer Lodge Centre after many years of service. She also worked for A & W Canada and Silver Heights Restaurant. Ivy was the founder of the Canadian Branch of the Mothers Union as well, she spent many years on the executive of the Ladies Auxiliary Command of Manitoba and N. W. Ontario for the Army and Navy. Mum volunteered her time with the seniors at the Deer Lodge Centre. Ivy was an avid Bomber fan and season ticket holder for many years. She was active with knitting, cake decorating, enjoyed dancing, going on cruises and going to Grand Beach. Mum was one of the warmest, strongest and a truly kind person, she was loved by many. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She overcame many challenges in her life and she will be sadly missed. Thanks to the staff at 3W, Grace Hospital for the care shown to Mum. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow.
