Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHALINA POTTIN Halina Pottin, born October 10, 1923 in Podebrady, Czechoslovakia, died on August 3, 2002 at home surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Survived by her husband of 62 years, Alexander, of Pender Island; daughters, Emily (Orval) and Irene (Barry) son Rick; 10 grandchildren, Christie (Peter), Dana (Butch), Rene (Kevan), Lara (Pablo), Norine (Tim), Shawn (Julie), Sarah (Jim), Ginger, Kai and Hailey; and five great-grandchildren, Tessa, Ian, Jason, Andre, and Colton. Predeceased by her son Alexander Jr. (Jessie) in 1979. With thanks for the loving care provided by the staff at BC Cancer Clinic, especially Drs. Pike and Hoskins, palliative care Dr. Quelch, and home nurse Valerie Harper. Memorial service was held at Minoru Chapel, Richmond, BC, Thursday, August 8 at 2:30 p.m. Cremation followed. In lieu of flowers, donations in Halinas memory may be made to BC Cancer Society, 565 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5Z 4J4. We were all blessed by having so many years together.
