NELLIE RUCHKALL (nee CHURA) It is with sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, on Sunday, August 11, 2002 at East Gate Lodge, Beausejour, MB, at the age of 88 years. Nellie was born December 6, 1913 and lived most of her life on the farm in Hazelridge, MB. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph in 1987. She leaves to mourn her passing, a daughter and two sons, Myrtle Banash and husband Walter, Garson, MB, Gordon and wife Eileen, Transcona, MB, and Russell and wife Elaine, Anola, MB; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Maime Protosavage of Transcona; brother Stan Chura and wife Olga of Beausejour, MB; sisters-in-law, Alexandra Chura, Edmonton, AB, Anne Chura, Winnipeg, MB, Jean Ruchkall, Beausejour, MB; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Catherine Chura; her husband Joe; brothers, Nick, John, Frank, Casey; and sister Lilly Lucko. The family would like to express their gratitude to Father Owen Steeves, the dedicated and caring staff at East Gate Lodge; Dr. Corder, Auntie Olga and Uncle Stanley, for their many caring ways. Prayers will be said Wednesday, August 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. East, Beausejour. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, August 15 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, Beausejour, with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves presiding. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Donald Ruchkall, Doug Banash, Mark Ruchkall and Grant Ruchkall and nephews, Norman Chura and Eddie Protosavage. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to East Gate Lodge or to St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, Beausejour, MB.
