Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATLIN BALDUR GARY GEBHARDT January 23, 1997 - August 16, 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catlin Gebhardt. In December 1999 Catlin suffered a spinal cord injury which left him a quadriplegic on a ventilator. As a result of his lengthy hospital stay, he had many special people come into his life that became extended family. Catlin had a zest for life that was immeasurable, he faced every challenge with determination and a smile. He attended Play n Learn Nursery School in Lockport and made many great friends. He attended RCC "Switched-on Day Camp" this summer and had a blast. Catlin loved life, he accepted his limitation without complaints and took pride in his abilities. He enjoyed making people laugh whether with a new joke or just being goofy. He loved being read to, had many books memorized and would "read" back to us. Catlins family would like to thank all those who helped us get Catlin home from the hospital; also all the hospital staff for their kindness, wisdom and love they so willingly shared. Catlin will be sadly missed by his parents, Gary and Brenda; brothers, Kyle and Seth and sister Bridget; grandparents, Baldur and Jeannette Jonasson, Robert Gebhardt and the late Katarina Gebhardt; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; his godparents, Pastor Dan Abraham and Diane Lauder, and many cherished friends, especially Janet, Cheryl and Robin, and his buddy Fuzz. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Child Life Department of the Childrens Hospital in memory of Catlin. Catlin enjoyed many fun-filled hours playing there and the staff were close to his heart. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, August 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 401 Kildare Ave. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, August 21 at 3:00 p.m., also in the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
