Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENNIS H. GOTHARD It is with great sadness and sorrow that the family wishes to announce the passing of Dennis H. Gothard, on August 12, 2002, at the Concordia Hospital. He is survived by his beloved wife Jessie of 53 years; his grandson Tyson and daughter-in-law Janice Gothard of Brandon; sister Edna Sevensma of Oliver, BC; brother-in-law Larry and his wife Marion Osborne; niece Barbara Osborne of Kelowna, BC; and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mom and dad, Hope and Harry; sisters, Eileen and Nora; and his only son Donald Ross in February 2000. He was born in Chesterfield, England, on March 24, 1925, and came to Canada in 1947. He started work at the C.N.R. in the machine shop and later transferred to the work equipment shop as assistant foreman then foreman until he retired after 39 years of service in 1986. He spent over 50 enjoyable summers at their cottage at Whytewold Beachboating, swimming, card playing in the company of friends. He had a passion for classical music. He also enjoyed curling both as spectator and participant. At his request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of choice.
