BRUNO YVES EUGENE LE MADEC It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruno Yves Eugene Marie Le Madec, aged 53, on Monday, August 12, 2002, after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer. Bruno is survived by his loving wife Kerry; father Roger; and mother Marie (nee Le Bihan) son Cedric; brothers, Patrick (Suzanne) and Guy (Karin) nephew Yann; and nieces, Jannie, Brianne, Taibra and Cailynn; also sister-in-law Wendy (Doug) and sister-in-law Lori. He will also be fondly remembered by stepchildren, Shannon, Kieran and Aerynn (grandchildren, Justin, Sarah, Aevynn and Adhara) as well as several uncles, aunts, and cousins in France. Bruno was born in Duault, France on April 11, 1949. After coming to Canada in 1951, he and his family resided in St. Boniface. Bruno received a Masters of Library Science at the University of Western Ontario in 1977. He then worked for a number of years both in Quebec and France finally returning to Winnipeg in 1987. Bruno became the owner of La Boutique du Livre in 1995. This business was a labour of love to which he devoted all his energy until his illness. Bruno enjoyed fishing, music, family gatherings and gardening and was especially fond of his devoted dog Corki. He lived his life on his own terms choosing his own road to walk. Though sometimes stubborn to a fault, Brunos strong will, keen intelligence and determination brought him many companions to travel with along his journey. He was an original. Memorial service in celebration of Brunos life will be held on Friday, August 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., with a gathering of family and friends in the Glen Lawn Reception Centre to follow. The family would like to thank Drs. Crow and Schroeder, the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital and home care nurse Myrna for their care and compassion. Also, sincere thanks to all his special friends, especially Brian and Bert who spent so much time and provided so much support to Bruno during these past months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brunos memory to CancerCare Manitoba. Kenavo Bruno!
