WILLIAM KARL HERMAN With sadness, we announce the sudden passing on August 14, 2002, of William Karl Herman, at the age of 81 years, with his sister Velma and brother-in-law Robert at his side. William was predeceased by his father and mother Adolph and Huldine Herman; his sister Edna Rettaler; and brothers-in-law, Roy Rettaler and Alois Gebel. He leaves to cherish his memory his sister Velma and husband Robert; nieces and nephews, Lavern and husband Dan, Richard, Barbara and husband Greg, Linda and husband Bruce, Mark and wife Juliette, Heather and husband Peter; his great-nieces and nephews, Tammy, Lisa, Theresa, Daniel, Devon, Tyson, Caroline, Alexander, Tess, Sarah, and Jenna. William was born January 16, 1921, in Morden. In 1926 the Herman family moved to Sewell where they farmed through the Depression Years despite hardships and struggles. After his fathers passing in 1969, he continued to reside on, and work his farm in Sewell until the present. William was a much loved son, brother, uncle, and neighbour. He shared wonderful times with his family and friends on the farm. He was an active member of the church and a support to the family. We always felt at home and loved at the farm in Sewell. A special thank you to Pastor Gary Russell and to Dr. Fraser and the staff at the Morris Hospital; also, appreciation and thank you to Williams friends and neighbours. The funeral service will be held on Monday August 19 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Rosenfeld. Interment will follow in the Sewell Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Morris Funeral Home. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the St. Johns Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
