Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE ROSE MARGARET BURDENY (nee SOLOSHY) 1923 - 2002 Peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2002, Elsie Burdeny passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital, at the age of 78 years with her family at her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Walter; daughter Linda (Andy) Barabash and grandchildren, Lindsey and fiance Bryan Melnyk and Drew. Elsie is survived by her brother Leonard Soloshy and niece Darlene of Tujunga, CA; sister-in-law Christine Soloshy of Regina, SK; nephew Joe Soloshy of Yorkton; and niece Janice (Allen) Miller of New York, NY; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends. Elsie was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Rose Soloshy; brothers, Clarence and Joseph; infant sister; and sister-in-law Irene. Elsie was born September 9, 1923 in Stockholm, SK, where she grew up on the family farm in the QuAppelle Valley. She moved to Winnipeg in 1945, where she attended Success College and later met Walter. They were married on August 7, 1948, with whom they shared the same date as her parents and daughter. Elsie worked for Wiggins Systems, Airliner Drive In, Eatons Mail Order, K-mart and Wonder Whip, retiring in 1981. Elsie was a loving, devoted wife and mother, a kind, compassionate person with a ready smile and helping hand. Mom enjoyed knitting for the family, dancing, cooking, travelling and family gatherings. Mom loved the cottage at Nutimik and her grandchildren. Her family was most important to her. The family thanks the many individuals who provided love and support throughout Elsies illness. Also the support of home care workers, Seven Oaks Hospital, Dr. L. Chung, the fire department, ambulance and hospital staff. Many thanks to Rana staff for supplies. Prayers will be held on Friday, August 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy No. 1 E. at Navin Road. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17 at 10:00 a.m., also at Green Acres Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
