Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON THOMAS DAVEY Peacefully on August 13, 2002 Gordon passed away at his home in Arnes, MB. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Dorothy; son Rick; daughters, Judy and David Mclean, Karen and Doug Cook, April and Greg Welter; sister Bessie Kostyk; and all his grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends. He was predeceased by his brother William (2001), by his mother Hilda (1957) and his father William (1952). Gordon was born in Pencode, Wales and came to Canada in 1929 with his family, at seven years old. He lived in St. James until he retired, when he moved to his cottage at Spruce Sands north of Gimli for the summers and Panama City, FL for the winters. Gordon served in the Navy in the Second World War. He worked in Shilo as a fireman in his early years. Then he worked at C.N.R. for 35 years until he retired. Gordon loved his golf, fishing, horseshoes and gardening. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk on 309 Eveline St. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
