NITA (HAMM) EAMER Peacefully, at the Charleswood Care Centre, on Saturday, August 10, 2002, Nita left us to be with her beloved husband Harold. Nita was born in Altona on January 11, 1907, to H. H. and Anna Hamm (Dyck). Besides her parents and her husband, Nita was predeceased by her brothers, Otto and Ben. Nita spent her employment years working as a clerical person in the banking industry. She worked in several locations around the province and met her future husband Harold in Elgin, MB. During their time together, Nita and Harold lived in Elgin and in Winnipeg on Golding and Olive Streets. Upon Harolds passing, she moved to 20 Fort St. on the 18th floor, which availed her to the view of the Forks with all its busy activities. Nita enjoyed attending performances of the Winnipeg Symphony and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. She loved to talk about the "family tree" including many relatives and friends of the Altona district. She was very proud of her Mennonite heritage and treasured her family pictures. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. on Monday, August 19, 2002, at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of the Charleswood Care Centre for the compassionate care of Nita over the past three years.
