KATHARINA GIESBRECHT (nee WIEBE) Peacefully in her sleep at Donwood Manor, on August 14, 2002, Katharina went home at age 79 years. She was predeceased by two sons and one daughter in infancy and by one son (Hans) in 1999 and a grandson (Jeremiah) in 1986. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Aron; four daughters, and three sons and their families, Eva (Peter) Kehler, Jake (Elna) Giesbrecht, Abe (Liesa) Giesbrecht, Ed (Helen) Giesbrecht, Helen (Hans) Sawatzky, Lea (David) Gallop, Viera (Larry) Bergen; 24 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her love of family. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17 at 9:00 a.m. at River East Mennonite Church, 825 Panet Rd. with viewing prior to the service, Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6. Pallbearers will be her sons-in-law, Hans Sawatzky, Dave Gallop, Larry Bergen and grandsons, Roland Kehler, Matthew Giesbrecht and Bradley Kehler. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
