Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY GERTRUDE McCLURE (KANE) (nee SKIDD) It is with deep regret we announce the passing of "Hodie" McClure on Tuesday, August 13, 2002, surrounded by her family. Born on November 19, 1933, in Chatham, NB. She was the daughter of John A. and Maude (Grennan) Skidd. Moving to Halifax in 1952, she attended the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing. Retiring from the N.S. Department of Health in 1993, Hodie married and relocated to Winnipeg, MB. With her new husband, she made many new friends and became involved as a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society. Recently she was presented with an award for her dedication to the Society. She is survived by her husband John W.A. McClure; son Paul Kane (Cheryl) and daughters, Deborah A. MacInnes (Calvin Kerr), Dianne Burgess (Alan), Joanne Lanigan and Julie White (Cory), all of the Halifax area; and her childrens father Ralph A. Kane of Mount Uniacke, NS; stepchildren, Dawn Anderson (Doug) and John McClure (Brenda). Grandchildren, Sean, Susan and Steven MacInnes, Nicholas and Haily Lanigan, Kelly Burgess, Cydney and Robyn Kane, all of the Halifax area, Taylor and Morgan Anderson of Terrace, BC, and Jade and Jagger McClure of Winnipeg, MB. She was predeceased by brothers, Blair Skidd, John J. Skidd; and sister Bernadine MacMillan. Surviving are brother Ralph Skidd, Moncton, NB; sisters, Marie Hare and Margaret Martin of Dartmouth, NS, and Kathleen Webster of Ottawa, ON. Memorial service will take place on Friday, August 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. Interment in Chatham, NB at a later date. In Hodies memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7.
