Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATHERINE McQUEEN JOHNSON Catherine McQueen Johnson (nee Meikle) passed away August 20, 2002. She was born November 19, 1914 in Ormiston, Scotland. She immigrated with her family to Fairlight, SK in 1925. She married Oli Freeman Johnson on August 4, 1934. They farmed in the Gladstone, MB area until 1946 when they moved to the Amaranth district. Upon retirement they moved to the Town of Amaranth. Following her husbands death on August 13, 1990, she relocated to Winnipeg. She is survived by her sister Janet Montgomery (Albert), as well as eight daughters and four sons, Trudy (Paul), Christine, Elaine, Anne (Barry), David, John (Lorraine), Rhoda, Kenneth (Grace), Sharon (Dale), Liz (Pic), Paul (Sharon) and Linda (Roy). Also survived by 27 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, three sisters and four brothers. Mother was a very joyful person who loved to sing. She loved the Lord and enjoyed fellowship with her old friends from Amaranth and new friends from Calvary Temple. Funeral service will be held in the Buntain Chapel at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St. on Friday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bruce Martin officiating. Interment to follow at the Amaranth Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. The family would like to extend special thanks to the caring third floor staff at the Concordia Hospital.
