MAUDE ELIZABETH PETURSSON (nee WILSON) January 29, 1914 - August 14, 2002 Peacefully at Betel Home, Maude Petursson passed away at the age of 88. Mum was a wonderfully caring and giving person. Her love for her family and friends will be remembered by all who knew her. She gave generously of her time to many charitable organizations over the years. She was a member of the McKinnon Guild for many years until poor health forced her to give up her volunteer activities. Over the years she enjoyed bowling, curling and golfing. Above all, she enjoyed cooking and entertaining at home and at the family cottage in Gimli. Some of her happiest times were spent at Gimli, and she always looked forward to summers at the lake. Predeceased by her husband Oli in 1984; son Roggi in 2001; and brothers, Bob and Johnny Wilson; and sister Alice Earls. Left to cherish her memory forever are daughter Carla (Rick) of Matlock, grandson Justin (Kori ) of Sorrento, BC, and sister Edna of Albuqerque, NM. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street. In lieu of flowers, those who so wish may make a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3.
